Overview The Associate AB / HB PV Designer is responsible for refining their process of designing code-compliant residential solar photovoltaic systems following engineering department policy. Developing an understanding of structural and electrical engineering concepts and calculations is a necessity for this position. This is an entry level position focused on developing individuals to become qualified PV Designers within the new homes/construction space. This is a fast paced yet detail oriented position.  Responsibilities Create, review and modify PV system drawing sets in AutoCAD and custom software tools Complete electrical and structural designs for photovoltaic projects within a production based environment Review blueprints and converting information into viable permitting documentation Interface with Construction Branch, Sales and Project Coordinator teams to complete designs meeting both Sunrun and customer expectations within deadlines Create project bills of material Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions Analyzing electrical photographs to determine the proper interconnection method to be used when attaching a solar PV system to a home Utilize software systems to record progress of various tasks Work to meet and exceed design Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including, but not limited to, quality, output, cycle time and difficulty Performing other duties and assignments as given by management Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of residential or commercial construction process Ability to effectively communicate with engineering, construction, and customer facing teams Proficiency in drafting using AutoCAD, Sketchup, or related software Excellent computing skills Strong desire to Create a Planet Run by the Sun Experience with designing and/or constructing solar electric systems Strong working knowledge of residential framing, roofing, and electrical Knowledge of National Electrical Code and local building codes Experience with AutoCad and Salesforce Experience in creating material takeoffs   Physical Demands Ability to perform normal office duties Ability to operate office equipment including computers Ability to interact and participate in meetings Recruiter: Danielle Levitan (danielle.levitan@sunrun.com) Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to acts, such as The Equal Pay Transparency Act.
