Child Protective Investigations Supervisor
Palm Beach Service Center, West Palm Beach
This is advanced professional work supervising and directing the work of child protective investigators and support staff. The primary duty of the employee(s) in the position (s) allocated to this class is to spend the majority of the time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees. Supervise, plan and direct workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization of subordinate staff in the delivery of protecting children, working with families and conducting investigations of alleged abused, abandoned, neglected or exploited children.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of Bachelor's degree required
• At least 3 years in child welfare, preferred in child abuse investigations.
• Current/Active Child Welfare Certification credentials from the Florida Certification Board.
• Must be trained and practicing Florida's Safety Practice methodology
• Valid Driver License; and Must possess operational private vehicle for use in the performance of daily work activities.
• Preference will be given to candidates who meet the requirements of the Career Ladder
Preference(s):
Bachelor's or master's degree in social work.
Absent special circumstances, each Child Protection Professional who occupies a supervisory position must meet all of the requirements to become proficient as a Supervisor in that position classification within two years of hire into the supervisory position.

Some Agency positions may require successful completion of pre-interview assessment or work sample prior to interview.
Language proficiency may be considered in the selection process as determined by Agency needs at the time of selection.

Eligible for the maximum sick leave payout at 1/4 of 1920 hours or 480 hours of unused sick leave upon separation with at least ten years of creditable state service (credits accrued on your last anniversary are prorated)
