CPR Instructor Position:
Job Type: Part-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging CPR Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid techniques to a diverse group of students, including healthcare professionals, employees, and the general public. The instructor will deliver high-quality, interactive training sessions that ensure participants gain the skills and confidence needed to perform CPR in emergency situations. They will also be conducting the Challenge course when the opportunity arises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct CPR Training: Lead and facilitate CPR certification courses, ensuring all participants understand and can perform the necessary skills, including chest compressions, rescue breathing, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
- Evaluate Participants: Assess the performance of course participants, providing constructive feedback and additional instruction as needed to ensure competency.
- Maintain Training Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain all CPR training equipment, including manikins and AED simulators, to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Maintain the Website: Always ensure the website it up to date with current requirements and is working as needed
- Manage the HSI Portal: Be willing to be trained and then manage the internal HSI portal
- Responsive: Respond same business day (within reason) to those that have paid for the course. Ensuring they get the course material and or schedule for the in person/ challenge course
- Stay Updated on Guidelines: Keep current with the latest CPR guidelines and best practices as issued by recognized organizations such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, course completion, and certification details. Submit reports to the program manager as required. You will also be submitting the CPR certificates to the Agencies that send their DSPs to the company.
- Promote Safety Awareness: Educate participants on the importance of emergency preparedness and the critical role CPR plays in saving lives.
- Customize Training: Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, backgrounds, and group sizes. Tailor courses to meet the specific needs of various audiences, such as workplace settings, schools, or community groups.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current CPR Instructor certification from a recognized organization such as the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross, or equivalent,
- Experience: Previous experience teaching CPR or other life-saving techniques preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate participants.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and tailor instruction to meet varying needs.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage classes and paperwork.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to demonstrate CPR techniques, including performing chest compressions on a manikin, which may require physical exertion.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education or experience in health, safety, or emergency services is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional Certifications: Certifications in First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are highly desirable.
- Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching in a classroom or group setting, especially in health or safety-related fields.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel to various locations to conduct training sessions, and availability to work evenings or weekends as needed.
