Position Description
CGI is looking for a Data Engineering Expert for a Director Consulting Expert position for its Emerging Technologies Practice to help our customers on their AI & Data transformation journey!


This position is ideal for someone who is looking to take on an expert hands-on development role delivering complex data engineering for AI, machine learning, and analytic solutions on various cloud platforms with clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate a breadth of understanding established and emerging data engineering technologies and experience. Experience with complex data integration, DevOps, DataOps, big data processing, predictive analytics, and data visualization are expected.


This positions preferred location is Lafayette, LA, Lebanon, VA, Belton, TX, Knoxville, TN or Fairfax, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.


Your future duties and responsibilities
We help our clients with numerous types of projects covering a variety of different business scenarios including supporting data for business intelligence, data science and AI, customer relationship management, asset management, and enterprise resource planning. The data engineer expert will have the skills to deliver modern data engineering products to solve different business problem and have the communication skills to build close relationships with both client and CGI team members:

  • Develop new systems to provide real-time streaming analytics and event processing pipeline based on high velocity data architecture to handle throughput over millions of events per second
  • Develop enterprise grade data lake to support both business analytical needs and next generation data infrastructure
  • Develop data integration toolkit to build and manage automated and efficient data pipelines that will consume data from backend services into data repositories and various formats to be consumable by reporting systems and analysts
  • Help create and implement DataOps, DevOps, and CICD best practices
  • Support data science teams in developing and deploying new algorithms
  • Create infrastructure to monitor and manage data integrity and data systems health
  • Leverage and contribute to industry best practices including proper use of source control, code reviews, data validation and testing
  • Create and implement engineering best practices and collaborate in the design of effective streamlined processes with partner teams
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management or or other STEM related discipline and 4+ years of experience
Proficiency in Cloud Platforms and Services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Data Modeling and Warehousing

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $110,000.00 - $270,600.00.
