Development Director
Glacier Peak Institute is a grassroots nonprofit established in the wake of the 2014 Oso Slide to serve rural youth and communities through outdoor learning and recreation. We empower youth to build resilient and sustainable rural communities and healthy ecosystems across the Glacier Peak region of Western Washington through innovative, action-based education programs integrating Science, Technology, recreation, Engineering, art, Mathematics, and skill-building (STrEaMs).
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, the Development Director is a full-time position responsible for overseeing and growing Glacier Peak Institute’s revenue and donor base. Glacier Peak Institute secures revenue through donations, sponsorships, and grants, with a need to significantly grow support through major gifts and individual giving.
The Development Director will be responsible for overseeing and executing our four-year fundraising plan. Key priorities of GPI’s fundraising plan include establishing a monthly giving program, increasing the number of individual donors by 20% from year to year, and training our development committee and board of directors to increase peer to peer fundraising. The Development Director will also assist with prospect research and relationship building in connection with GPI’s capital campaign.
Candidates for this position should be based in Northwest Washington or be willing to relocate. This position will have flexibility to work from home but must be able to attend occasional meetings or events in the Darrington area.

The salary range for this role will be $75,000 - $85,000 per year
*Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or desire to live closer to the office prior to your first day of work.
