Job Description The position is a Surfacing Plans Project Engineer position with the Surfacing Plans Group in the Office of Materials and Surfacing. The purpose of this position is to assemble surfacing plans for transportation projects throughout the state. Duties will include gathering available project information, developing surfacing/resurfacing plans, calculation surfacing quantities, coordinating plans assembly with other DOT offices, initiating plan reviews, and delivering final plans for bid letting.
Work is normally in an office environment with eight-hour work days. A flexible work schedule and remote work request will be considered.

Duties And Responsibilities Duties will include gathering available project information, developing surfacing/resurfacing plans, calculation surfacing quantities, coordinating plans assembly with other DOT offices, initiating plan reviews, and delivering final plans for bid letting.

- general engineering principles as they relate to transportation facilities;
- construction materials and surfacing types used for highway construction; computers and software used for developing plans and computing quantities.

Position Requirements Only applicants with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field will be considered.
Compensation The total compensation of Hourly Wage + State/Federal Benefits for a typical year for entry level Surfacing Plans Project Engineer is approximately $88,469.00 annually.
