Job Description

THE POSITION The City of Ventura is now accepting applications for the position of Facilities Maintenance Leadworker. WHAT YOU'LL DO Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Leadworker spends 50% of their time leading the work of four Facilities staff members and the other 50% working at a skilled level to complete maintenance tasks. This position assigns work orders, checks the quality of work, trains and mentors' staff and assists the Facilities Supervisor in managing contractors. This position requires the use of specialized software including WebTMA, a Computerized Maintenance Management System that is utilized to track all requests, workorders, and maintenance history. Identiv's Hirsh Velocity software is used for building access control, and Johnson Controls Metasys energy management software for building mechanical systems. The Facilities Maintenance Leadworker may act in the absence of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.   • SALARY: $$31.78 - $38.63 Hourly DOQ

If you have questions about the recruitment process, please contact Melanie Hanisco at POSITION QUALIFICATIONS WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO QUALIFY A combination of experience, training and education equivalent completion of high school and two years of increasingly responsible facilities maintenance experience comparable to that of a Facilities Maintenance Worker II in the City of Ventura; OR five years directly related maintenance/construction experience are required. Some prior supervisory or leadworker training or experience is highly desirable. License: Must possess a valid California Class C driver' license.

  • Prior supervisory or leadworker training/experience a plus.
  • Building Operator certification is highly desirable
