In this role, the Manager, Instructional Design , will focus on the effective delivery and evaluation of all training initiatives within Lucid Motors' sales training programs. This position entails managing a team of instructional designers and overseeing the development and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS). The role reports directly to the Head of Sales Training and collaborates closely with the Manager, Sales Training Content
Team Leadership & Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive instructional design strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of instructional designers, providing guidance, support, and performance management to ensure the effective development and delivery of training content.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Instructional Strategies & Methodologies:
- Develop and implement instructional strategies and methodologies to create engaging, effective training materials tailored to various learning styles and needs. Utilizing ADDIE Model, SAM, Kirkpatrick method
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and the content team to transform training content into compelling eLearning modules, workshops, and other training formats.
- Ensure all training materials meet industry standards and are aligned with brand and sales objectives.
LMS Management:
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the LMS, ensuring it serves as an effective platform for delivering and tracking training programs.
- Manage the LMS user experience, including navigation, accessibility, and content availability, to ensure a seamless learning experience for all sales employees.
Metrics & Evaluation:
- Develop and implement metrics and tools to assess the effectiveness of training programs, including participant feedback, performance metrics, and ROI analysis.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously refine and enhance training initiatives, ensuring they meet evolving business needs and industry standards.
Collaboration & Alignment:
- Work closely with the Manager, Sales Training Content, and other departments such as HR, Marketing, and Sales to align training initiatives with company-wide goals and strategies.
- Participate in needs analysis and stakeholder meetings to identify training gaps and opportunities for improvement as needed.
Project Management:
- Lead and execute instructional design projects alongside their team and delivery of instructional design projects, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage resources, timelines, and deliverables effectively.
Innovation & Best Practices:
- Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in instructional design, adult learning theories, and educational technologies.
- Introduce innovative approaches and tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of training programs
- Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs to support the overarching goals of the Sales Training department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning and Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or a related field.
- At least 5+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within a training or educational team.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and learning theories
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in developing engaging and effective eLearning modules, workshops, and other training formats.
- Ability to manage LMS user experience, including navigation, accessibility, and content availability
- Ability to conduct needs analysis and identify training gaps and opportunities.
- Experience in developing metrics to assess training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to contribute to the planning and innovation of the sales training function.
- Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in training and development.
- Experience in facilitating training sessions, workshops, and webinars.
- Certification in instructional design, training, or a related field (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
