Adelphi is seeking to recruit an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an as needed role in a Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.The candidate should have 3 years’ experience in providing occupational therapy services to elderly, chronically ill, and cognitively and physically challenged patients.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• Iowa License in Occupational Therapy
• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
• Must be skilled with elderly, chronically ill, and cognitively and physically challenged patients.
• Maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities: 

• Assess motor function and personal-social development of residents at the state facility.
• Provide treatment to residents across all levels of care as identified by the primary provider.
• Perform occupational therapy assessments and evaluations using appropriate tests and professional observations.
• Collect and use supplementary information for comprehensive evaluations.
• Document services performed for each resident in the facility’s electronic medical record system (ADL)
• Must ensure that suitable measures are taken to assure the confidentiality of the facility and its residents at all times and abides by a professional code of ethics.
• Providing monthly supervision hours, oversight and direction for one Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
