The Research Finance Analyst I (RF I) is an active member of the central Research Finance Office and part of a team that processes a wide variety of post award management tasks. The Research Finance Analyst I is responsible for adhering to best practices, provides outstanding customer service to co-workers, and the research community, while facilitating the research administration effort within DFCI. The RF I is an entry-level professional; uses general business concepts for problem solving and works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. The RA I takes on a less complex financial portfolio of grants.

Responsible for setting up project awards and amend projects as needed.
Communicates with department and PIs throughout grant lifecycle and assists in the development and submission of all requests for a change of PI, no-cost extension requests, and budgeting requests.
Manages the financial administration of less complex research portfolio of Non-federal and Federally grants.
Approves incoming subcontract invoices for payment.
Ensures that awards/accounts are managed in full compliance with applicable rules and regulations established by both the sponsor and as well as all pertinent DFCIs policies.
Reviews and approves personnel and non-personnel costs transfers requests.
Responsible for closing-out of projects, including journal entries and reconciliation.
Responsible for financial reporting and invoicing to sponsors.
Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or similar required.
