What the job involves:

We are looking for a dedicated Test Driver to assist in testing and improving the performance of our advanced camera systems and related technologies. In this role, you will manually drive vehicles equipped with sophisticated camera systems to gather data under various conditions. You will tackle complex challenges that have immediate real-world applications. Strong attention to detail, basic technical skills, and an excellent driving record are essential. Integrity, good judgment, and the ability to work in a team environment are required at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Drive vehicles equipped with advanced camera systems to collect data and assess performance under various conditions.

• Conduct thorough reviews and provide detailed annotations on recorded driving videos using company-provided video analysis tools.

• Monitor and log software performance, providing feedback about the system’s behavior and environmental interactions.

• The role involves a driving pattern that includes alternating between driving, parking, and recording. While most days will involve shorter recording sessions, there will be opportunities to record higher-speed traffic at more distant locations, which may require extended hours of 6-8 hours of driving, recording fine tuning etc. However, this duration is not expected to be the norm.

• Evaluate various aspects of our technology through participation in demonstrations and testing activities, while also taking on additional tasks and projects as needed to support team objectives.

Requirements:

• Licensed to drive a motor vehicle in the U.S. for at least three years, with an active driver's license and a clean driving record (no more than one point).

• Must pass a clean background check.

• Ability to drive and/or spend time in a vehicle for 6-8 hours a day, maintaining focus and attention during long periods.

• Ability to give and receive clear, prompt, and understandable verbal and written communication.

• Ability to accurately type and read on a laptop and operate software applications relevant to testing. Familiarity with Linux OS and prior startup experience is a plus.

• Strong understanding of hardware systems, with the ability to connect and disconnect various components safely and efficiently. Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware issues and ensuring proper functionality is essential.

• Ability to safely operate the vehicle in accordance with safety protocols and applicable laws, including proper handling of controls and checking the environment.

Work Hours:

• 40 hours per week, five consecutive days, 8-hour shifts.

• May include nights and/or weekends.

• This is a 4 month contract position.

Compensation

$35.00 – $40.00 per hour

We determine fair compensation for each position by considering market rates, qualifications, experience, and location.

This job posting reflects a salary range based on different levels within the position, which are primarily determined by location. Your interview performance will help us determine your base salary offer within this range.

Keep in mind that salary is just one piece of Hayden's total compensation package. We also offer equity and a company-wide bonus plan. Additional benefits are shared as part of this job posting.
